At the end of this continuing medical education activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify and understand new treatment plans and surgical procedures in order to provide the best care of each individual patient.
  2. Describe current accepted practice guidelines as well as AAOS and subspecialty guidelines and standards so as to provide optimum care to patients.
  3. Define the roles of the orthopaedic team and learn patient/physician communication techniques, shared decision making, legal issues and the business of orthopaedic practice.
  4. Obtain knowledge of the basic science of orthopaedic surgery.
