Sarah N. Pletcher, MD

Sarah N. Pletcher, MD, is the medical director for the Center for Telehealth. She is responsible for creating and overseeing the enterprise-wide telehealth strategy at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and defining how these technologies will support the system mission of building a sustainable population health care system.

Dr. Pletcher originally came to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in 2005 for surgical residency. Before her arrival at D-H, Dr. Pletcher worked for seven years in rural health care in Michigan, and before that for four years with the National Health Service at King’s College Hospital in London, England. While completing her Master's Degree in medical school at Michigan State University, Dr. Pletcher developed innovative medical education curricula and consulted on cultural competency, social needs, community resource networking and population health for several projects funded by Medicaid, HRSA, NIH and other federal agencies. She has been a principal investigator or key personnel on approximately 15 million dollars of funding efforts—all aimed at telemedicine, innovation, medical education or outreach program development, particularly for rural communities.
