Neuropathology

The Neuropathology team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center provides comprehensive services for the diagnosis of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous systems in adult and pediatric patients.
Our pathology services help to treat:
- Cerebrovascular diseases
- Infectious and inflammatory disorders
- Myopathies and neuropathies
- Neurodegenerative disorders
- Tumors
In addition to surgical biopsies, we evaluate brain and spinal cord removed at autopsy. We work very closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists, rheumatologists and other physicians to provide the best possible care for our patients.
We are committed to the teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and undergraduates. In addition, we are actively engaged in research to understand the neuropathologic basis of disease and to utilize this knowledge for improved diagnosis and targeted therapies of neurological illness.
